Memories - what does that word mean to you?
Who or what do you remember - and never want to forget? Holding Memories is about making bears and pillows from your loved one's clothing..
Maybe your husband or father is in the military or in a job that requires a lot of traveling and will be away from home. Wouldn't it be nice to have a teddy bear or pillow made from one of their old uniforms or favorite worn out shirt? A "memory" bear!
Maybe a loved one has passed on or you know someone who has recently endured a great loss. You know they could be comforted with something they could hold. Maybe you remember them wearing that same nightgown or t-shirt or sport coat - or that very special dress. What a perfect way to remember and feel their presence by having a teddy bear or a pillow to hold.
Maybe your children wore something special for an important event like coming home from the hospital, when they were baptized or had a picture taken with a memorable outfit. Maybe they had a favorite "blankie" and you can't part with the remaining worn and frayed pieces. Wouldn't you like to take these out of storage and preserve that memory? A teddy bear to hold is such a special way to use their clothing, rather than an attic or closet where you are keeping those items.
What about your pet? They are so special to us and it's hard to let them go. What about their dog bed? That too, can be made into a teddy bear.
Holding Memories is about turning that item of clothing (or anything fabric based) into YOUR unique memorable gift. Bears and pillows from loved one's clothing. When they aren't physically there, temporarily or permanently - you have a part of them, something you could cuddle and hold, something that just might make you "feel" that they ARE there! And now, that memory you cherish of that loved one - will be right near you, to hold forever!
I want to make that for you!

A very special husband, father and grandfather... a part of this family's life. He is no longer here on earth but home in heaven... oh how he is missed, but now they can "feel" him, remember the memories when they hold the teddy bear they call "Darlin"...

A poem I found 45 years ago and knew it was something I would always believe in - and would be a part of what I wanted to do in my life...
